On Saturday, May 30th, Gyosei International Primary School held its annual Sports Day. For the first time, the event was conducted during the first term, bringing together students, families, and staff for a day filled with energy, teamwork, and school spirit.
From early in the morning, family members and friends gathered at the soccer field of Gyosei High School to secure the best viewing spots and cheer on the students throughout the program.
Students were divided into the Red Team and White Team, and competed in a variety of events. Individual races included the 50-meter up to 100-meter dashes, while each grade level showcased its teamwork and determination through unique class competitions. First graders participated in a ball toss relay, second graders competed in a giant ball rolling race, third graders raced in oversized pants, fourth graders challenged themselves in a two- and three-legged race, fifth graders worked together in a centipede race, and sixth graders demonstrated their agility in an obstacle course race.
Blessed with clear skies and pleasant weather throughout the day, students and spectators were able to fully enjoy the event. In the afternoon, members of the Dance Club entertained the audience with three energetic performances. This was followed by a special tug-of-war event between the sixth graders and their parents, creating memorable moments of laughter and friendly competition. The final team relay brought excitement to the field as students gave their all for their respective teams.
During the closing ceremony, the results were announced, and the Red Team emerged victorious. Both teams were applauded for their hard work, perseverance, and outstanding sportsmanship.
As the event came to an end, students, parents, and teachers worked together to clean up the venue, demonstrating the strong sense of cooperation and community that characterizes Gyosei International Primary School. Sports Day was not only an opportunity for students to showcase their physical abilities but also a valuable experience in teamwork, determination, and mutual support. Through both victory and defeat, students learned the importance of giving their best effort, encouraging one another, and working together toward a common goal. The day concluded with smiles, unforgettable memories, and a strengthened sense of unity within the school community.
