春らしい暖かい日差しの中、2012年度の入学式が行われました。今年度は、レギュラーコース32名、インターナショナルコース34名の児童たちが入学し、新しく始まる学校生活に少し緊張しているようではありましたが、児童からは期待に満ちた嬉しそうな表情がうかがえました。
式では、担任の先生から一人ひとりの名前が呼ばれ、1年生は元気よく「はい！」と返事をすることができました。堂々とした姿を見て、これからの成長が本当に楽しみになりました。
教室では、新しい教科書や教材を受け取り、これから学校で勉強をしていくということに児童は目を輝かせていました。多くの児童は勉強をすることを非常に楽しみにしているようで、入学式当日にも関わらず、児童からは「せいかつってどんなお勉強をするの？」「漢字のお勉強楽しみ！」といった声が聞こえてきました。たくさんのお友達を作って、学校生活を楽しんでもらいたいと思います。
It was a great start to the 2012 school year. During the opening ceremony, I saw the excitement on the faces of both the grade one students and on the faces of the parents. As their homeroom teacher, I then had the chance to welcome them into our classroom.
I think the grade one students are a curious bunch and seem eager to learn. Of cource, there is always something new to learn everyday in primary school, so the top priority is ensuring that every student receive the best education possible.
We have a big year ahead of us and I am sure the students are really going to enjoy learning from each other. I hope that we all will make our school an even better place to come to.
