On Friday, April 17, 2026, Gyosei International Primary School held a special Welcome Program to celebrate and greet this year’s new first graders from the Plus Haut and International Courses.
To encourage interaction and build connections across grade levels, all primary students were grouped with members from the Plus Haut, Regular, and International classes. The event began with a special entrance of the first graders, accompanied by their Grade 5 and 6 student partners, creating a warm and supportive atmosphere.
As part of the first activity, students prepared introduction cards with their names and favorite things. They enthusiastically mingled with one another, exchanging cards filled with messages and drawings. The first graders especially enjoyed collecting these cards from their older schoolmates, while also sharing their own.
The excitement continued with a lively game of “Rock, Scissors, Paper” Chain. Students challenged one another, and those who did not win joined the winner’s group, forming longer and longer “chains” as the game progressed. In the end, the student who gathered the longest chain was celebrated as the champion.
For the final activity, students participated in an elimination-style True or False quiz prepared by the teachers, featuring fun and surprising questions about the school and its community. Laughter filled the gym as students eagerly guessed the answers, often surprised by the results.
Before lunch, representatives from Grades 1 and 6 shared their reflections, expressing their gratitude and highlighting their favorite moments of the program. The event concluded with everyone enjoying lunch together in the gym, providing another opportunity to bond and share their experiences.
Through this Welcome Program, students were able to build new friendships, strengthen their sense of belonging, and experience the supportive and inclusive spirit of the school community. It was a meaningful start to the school year, setting a positive tone for the months ahead.
