English Only Communication During Breaks In the International Course

June 4, 2011

It has always been the policy of the International Division to use English only during classes and when communicating with International Course Teachers. In order to increase the English conversation ability of students in the International Course, we will also be encouraging students to converse in English during morning and lunch breaks. In the case when international course students are riding together on the bus they are also strongly encouraged to use English. In the case when international course students and regular course students play together they can use either language. This policy will not only improve the conversational ability of students in the international course but will also give students in the regular course an opportunity to practice English during break time in an interactive and playful environment.

This morning, all primary students went to cheer a soccer match between Astra and Tokia-Dai Urayasu which we won 3 – 2. At the game, the students cheered on our team in both English and Japanese which gave the game a truly international feel.

After cheering on our team the students returned to the school to write the first Kanji Kentei Exam of the year.
